On the occasion of the late comedy King Rodolfo “Dolphy” Vera Quizon, Sr.’s 93rd birthday, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla paid a visit to his long-time partner’s tomb in The Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig.
Singer-Actress Zsa Zsa Padilla shared a photo on Instagram, reminiscing about how it always rains during Dolphy’s birthday party.
“Happy birthday! I just remembered how it would normally rain during your parties,” she addressed Dolphy. “You seldom had a sunny birthday but needless to say, you brought sunshine [into] our lives’, she wrote.
The Divine Diva also revealed that Dolphy’s son, actor Ronnie Quizon, sent her a fan-made tribute video featuring the song “Handog,” which made her reflect on the late comedian’s legacy.
You most especially loved the lyric — ‘Tatanda at lilipas din ako… nguni’t mayro’ng awiting/kasiyahang/tawanang iiwanan sa inyong alaala.’ It was important for you to leave your fans and loved ones with your amazing body of work. And yes, when we do miss you, all it takes is to press play to hear your songs, watch your movies and old footage of ‘John and Marsha.’ We will always remember you fondly. You will always be in my heart, Lovey. Thank you. Happy birthday,” she added.
On July 10, 2012, the legendary comedian died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 83 years old when he died.
