Xiaomi 12 Ultra Looks Leaked, There Is a Large Camera With the Leica Logo

Xiaomi is allegedly preparing to launch the Xiaomi 12 series flagship phone shortly. One of the models believed to be released is the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, the successor to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. Leaked specifications for the Xiaomi 12 line have also been circulating in cyberspace.

Most recently, a three-dimensional (3D) rendering shows the Xiaomi 12 Ultra from various sides. The 3D rendering design results from a collaboration between the technology site Let’s Go Digital and an illustrator account called Technizo Concept. One of the highlights is the rear camera module carried by the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is still equipped with a unique and sizeable rear camera module. From the results of the 3D rendering, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra looks to carry a circular rear camera module design which is pretty significant. The rear camera module looks to occupy about a third of the entire back of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra phone. In the upper right corner, the camera module is adorned with the signature logo of Leica, a well-known German camera company. This indicates that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra adopts the camera technology designed by Leica.

According to rumors, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra camera module will house four rear cameras.
The four rear cameras consist of the main camera in the middle, the ultra-wide camera on the left side of the center, the telephoto camera on the lower center side, and finally, a telephoto camera with a shorter zoom range of 2-3x in the top center. Unfortunately, there is no further information about the resolution of each of the rear cameras. In addition to the camera, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra rear camera module will also contain a flash, light sensor, and PDAF.

Leaked Xiaomi 12 Ultra specifications

Xiaomi is allegedly going to announce the Xiaomi 12 line in China on Tuesday (12/28/2021). In addition to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi is releasing the “regular” version of the Xiaomi 12 model and the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The three Xiaomi 12 models are believed to be carrying a screen with an OLED panel that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate.

According to leaks circulating, the “regular” version of the Xiaomi 12 will be equipped with three rear cameras, two of which have a resolution of 50 MP and 48 MP. This phone is said to support 67 watts of fast charging. At the same time, the Xiaomi 12 pro and ultra are believed to be equipped with a fast-charging feature of up to 100 watts. It should be noted, the specifications above are still in the form of leaks. The specifications for the Xiaomi 12 series still have to wait for an official introduction from Xiaomi. Although not yet revealing the launch date, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that Xiaomi would shortly introduce the Xiaomi 12 series. Jun revealed this on the sidelines of the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset.

On the same occasion, Jun also confirmed that the Xiaomi 12 series would be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most advanced chipset, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The system-on-chip (SoC) component is made using 4nm fabrication technology. Inside, there is an eight-core Kryo 64-bit architecture with a clock speed of up to 3.0GHz. In general, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is claimed to provide up to 20 percent better performance and up to 30 percent better power efficiency than the previous generation, Snapdragon 888.
