Watch this Essential Watch List before Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange (2016)

The first film of Dr. Strange certainly has a connection with the second film. The prequel film that tells the backstory of the beginning of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) has its power. This film also explains Strange’s relationship with several characters who will also appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Wanda Vision (2021)

It’s not a film, but this is one of the series produced by Marvel to enliven the Marvel universe series. Focusing on the life of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) after the Avengers: Endgame. Doctor Strange does not appear in this series, but Wanda’s story here is directly related later in the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness since Wanda features heavily in the Multiverse of Madness trailer.

Loki (2021)

Tells about the character of the God of Evil Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who escaped from the time stream of The Avengers (2012). Loki’s run has created a new time branch which has resulted in him being caught by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). TVA is an organization that keeps time flowing properly. This series explains the flow of time, variants of characters with different dimensions, and an initial explanation of the multiverse. Rumor has it that what Loki did in this series caused the conflict that occurred in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. 

What If (2021)

Slightly different from the lists above, this series is no longer live-action but is presented in animated series. Even though it is in an animated format, Marvel has confirmed that this series is also connected to the Avengers and others. For anyone who is still confused about why What If is included in this list, it is because there is one of the episodes that is related to Doctor Strange. The episode tells the variant of Doctor Strange which will later appear in the sequel film.

Spiderman: No Way Home (2021)

With Strange dealing with the fallout from his spell that causes everyone to forget who Peter Parker is, Spider-Man: No Way Home is one to watch ahead of time. Many suspects in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are also directly connected to the Multiverse conflict in the Spiderman: No Way Home movie.
