Paris Saint Germain plans to clean up their warehouse in the January transfer market. There are at least 7 players who will be released by the French capital club.

L’Equipe reported, as quoted by Marca, that the current PSG squad is too fat, with 35 players. Although several players had left last summer, Les Parisiens also spent a lot of money.

There are Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi, and Nuno Mendes who have entered this season. Therefore, PSG wants to reduce the number of their players, especially those who have not been included in the main squad.

There are at least seven players who will be ready to be released in January. They are Mauro Icardi, Rafinha Alcantara, Layvin Kurzawa, Abdou Diallo, Collin Dagba, Sergio Rico and Eric Edimbe.

Icardi is in his third season with Les Parisiens. He has scored 36 goals in 79 appearances. Although this is a good record, he is rarely the first choice of coaches.

This season, he has only been able to score 3 goals from 17 matches that have been running, 10 of which are substitutes. Instead of achieving, he is even being widely reported about his household problems with his wife, Wanda Nara.

PSG is willing to release Icardi, but the price is still relatively expensive, which is around 50 million euros. If he doesn’t sell, PSG will keep him, even if it’s only the umpteenth choice. The contract is also still until 2024

Sergio Rico, Kurzawa, and Rafinha are definitely not Mauricio Pochettino’s main choices. This season Rico has only appeared 22 minutes in all competitions. While Rafinha is only 220 minutes and Kurzawa is only 9 minutes.

Diallo is not a priority for release, but if there is an attractive offer, PSG will consider it. This season, he has only made 10 appearances, but all of them have started. Proof that he is still trusted in the team.

Meanwhile, Dagba and Edimbe have another issue. They are planned to be released on loan in order to find more playing minutes. Both of them are still young (Edimbe is 21 years old and Dagba is 23), and they are still part of PSG’s long-term plans.
