Vivo Film (2021) Fantastic voices behind the characters

Vivo is a new animated musical film on Netflix directed by Kirk DeMicco and co-directed by Brandon Jeffords. The story takes place in the city of Havana. Andres Hernandez and his Kinkajou, Vivo (tropical mammal), also known as Honey bear, love performing music together in the plaza. Their lives changed when something tragic happened. It follows the colorful adventure of Vivo and his journey to fulfill his owner’s wish, who will encounter different characters along the way.

Lin-Manuel Miranda As Vivo

Vivo, a Kinkajou who loves playing music in the streets of Havana, is played by the incredible American actor, composer, lyricist, and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda—best known for creating the Broadway musical hits, In the Heights and Hamilton: An American Musical, which was both made into films. He also produced and wrote Disney’s animated film Moana song. “How Far I’ll Go”

 

Juan De Marcos Gonzales As Andres

The voice Behind the man is a caring Cuban musician, Andres. Musical Partner and Owner of Vivo is played by Juan De Marcos Gonzales, a Grammy award winner who’s also a Cuban musician and the bandleader of Buena Vista Social Club in 1996.

 

Ynairaly Simo As Gabi

The cheerful great-niece of Andres, Vivo’s pal on his journey, is voiced by young newbie actress Ynairaly Simo. Her first role was in Amazon Prime’s original series, Creative Galaxy. Although a rookie, she has an impressive performance as Gabi.

 

Zoe Saldana As Rosa

A loving mother of Gabi who misunderstood her daughter. Rosa is portrayed by Zoe Saldana, who played Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Guardians of the Galaxy). She is the second highest-grossing film actress of all time as of 2019.

 

 

Michael Rooker As lutador

Lutador is a frightening and wicked Anaconda who hates noises. He is voiced by Michael Rooker, known for his roles in movies such as Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Eight Men Out, Sea of Love, Days of Thunder, JFK, and many more. He also played Yondu in the Guardians of the Galaxy.

 

Gloria Estefan as Marta

A music star and a long-time friend of Andres wanted to reconnect with him and perform music together. Behind this character is the beautiful voice of Gloria Estefan, a well-known Cuban American singer, and songwriter. She won three Grammy awards and received a star on the Hollywood and Las Vegas walk of fame.
