Chris Cuomo’s Sexual Related Allegations.
Days before CNN announced to fire him, Chris Cuomo was hit with a new allegation of sexual harassment. Amidst an investigation into work that he did defend his brother, former New York Gov. officials, Andrew Cuomo, from similar allegations.
Shortly after CNN fired the “Cuomo Prime Time” anchor on Saturday night. A woman who lodged a sexual harassment allegation against former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said through her lawyer, on Sunday, that she was “disgusted” by what she saw as his hypocrisies and attempt to discredit women who made similar allegations against his brother.
“Hearing the hypocrisy of Chris Cuomo’s on-air words and disgusted by his efforts to try to discredit these women, my client retained counsel to report his serious sexual misconduct against her to CNN,” she said.
The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, took her allegations against Chris Cuomo to CNN on Wednesday through her lawyer, Debra Katz.
Chris Cuomo also had been criticized for breaching journalistic ethics by trying to help his brother, beat his harassment charges.
According to NPR, Chris Cuomo had clearly violated his professional and ethical canons by seeking to manage the journalist’s coverage of his brother, an elected official; numerous CNN journalists and other news outlets believed.
Meanwhile, Cravath has his own conclusion that Chris Cuomo’s offenses were also contractual. He acted as any brother would. Even though he had failed to disclose to his bosses what he had done even as they were defending him publicly. However, CNN sure thought differently. The network said that participating in strategy calls with Gov. Cuomo’s aides was wrong, which caused his involvement to be limited as a sounding board.
Cuomo’s denied the accusation of attacking any of the women who came forward or making calls to any members of the press. But he had previously admitted advising his brother and his staff.
Despite the allegations, his firing leaves a hole in CNN’s weeknight lineup. Cuomo was generally the most-watched TV personality on CNN. Even while competing with industry heavyweights, such as Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and Sean Hannity on Fox News Channel.
