Tokyo Revengers Is Adapted From A Real Story, Is It true?

Tokyo Revengers is a series of Japanese manga shōnen written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. The manga was serialized in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine published by Kodansha and has been bundled into seventeen volumes tankōbon, then the manga was released in March 2017 to Anime Tokyo Revengers that has a genre of action thriller and science fiction that raised themes of child delinquent, the series is a shonen anime that combines aspects of various genres including supernatural, action, and drama which is very spectacular where the main character is named Hanagaki Takemichi or commonly called “Takemichi”, he is a lousy jobless man and 26 years old.

He just found out that the girl who became his girlfriend when he was still in junior high school was the only girl he had ever dated named Tachibana Hinata or commonly called “Hina” and had died due to the criminal act of a delinquent Gang. Then the day after finding out about hina’s death, Takemichi was pushed by someone while on the station platform, and at that moment the train was moving.

After Takemichi almost died from being hit by the train, mysteriously, Takemichi found himself having the ability to time leap and return into the past or the future. At the first time, he returned to the past when he was still in middle school. Then he vowed to change the future and save Hina. To do so, he aims to rise to the top of the Kanto region’s most delinquent and brutal gang called Tokyo Manjiro or known as “Toman”.

Nowadays this anime has become very popular among anime lovers because it has strong and vicious characters such as Manjiro Sano (Mikey) he is the leader of Toman’s Gang who has been strong since he was a child, Ken Ryuguji (Draken) he is the brain of Toman’s gang who has a big and strong body then the main character is Takemichi.

There is a lot of perception that Tokyo Revengers is adapted from the real story of a phenomenal motorcycle gang called Bosozoku. This is because there are similarities with the Bosozoku motorcycle gang both in costumes and actions such as wearing boots, recklessly while driving. In JapanBosozoku means an unrestrained group that uses vehicles and first appeared in Japan around 1950.

This motorcycle gang has their characteristic in modifying their motorbikes, they combine Japanese motorbikes with elements from American Chopper and British Cafe Racer, raising fairing, elevating handlebar, adding Backrest and various paintings with a noisy exhaust, as time goes by they are becoming more popular and the top of their popularity in 1982, Bōsōzoku gang had 42,510 members. But this gang then declined due to increasingly tight security conditions in Japan. this reference is also supported by remembering that Ken Wakui (The author) has a background of a thug when he was young.
