Julia Ducournau’s Titane (2021), which won the Palme d’Or this year, was a trip like no other at this year’s Cannes. Starring a cold, detached, and emotionless young woman named Alexia (Agatha Rousselle) who has had a fascination with automobiles since her untimely childhood accident.

Ducournau’s fascinating new works since 2016’s Raw have been a tour de force, bringing us new meaning and heights of how transformative a relationship between human and machine can be.Other than Alexia getting impregnated by an automobile, in the spirit of metamorphosis. Titane frequently depicts a sequence of gender fluidity, identity, and form escapism as a raw and primordial element.

The scene of many weird and bizarre imagery of how a human can produce a baby with a car conjured by the quirkiness of even thinking that having an oil as a discharged bodily fluids. As far as the movie goes, the two main focus of the character dynamics undergo a drastic changes in their lives.

‘Crash’ a prelude to the tension

David Cronenberg’s Crash (1996), is a little bit introduction for us through omnisexualism towards automobile. Titane in Crash respective, is a what if scenario, being an objectophilia taking it into the more extreme places than ever before.

Titane, a bold and complicated film that is also funny and merciless, is a fresh out of the box type of film for your non-typical theatre experience. Vincent Lindon carries us emotionally broken throughout the film, while Agathe Rousselle brings the raw and unedited action.
