The Who Have Resumed Their Tour Following COVID-19 Cancellations

NEW YORK, USA — The Who, the British rock band, is back on the road with THE WHO HITS BACK! after costly pandemic cancellations. tour.

“We’re just hitting back at COVID for stopping us in our tracks.” ‘Where Were We?’ we were planning to call it. ‘” said Roger Daltrey, the band’s lead singer, ahead of the tour’s launch next week.

The Who’s foundation, Teenage Cancer, had lost roughly $3 million due to canceled charity concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall, according to Daltrey, 78. The charity collaborates with UK and US hospitals to create cutting-edge areas for cancer-stricken teenagers to interact and stay connected.

The only surviving original members of the band, which began in 1960s London with drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle, are Daltrey and Pete Townshend, the band’s major composer famous for thrashing his guitar on stage.

With the rock opera “Tommy” and hits like “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and “I Can See For Miles,” The Who has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Daltrey and Townshend will kick off their North American tour on April 22 in Hollywood, Florida, with six band members and an orchestra, and will wrap it up in November in Las Vegas.

The Who’s tours have gotten a lot more complicated, according to Daltrey. “We were four guys with eight amps, a drum kit, and a sound system,” says the narrator. That was the end of it. We arrive in a U-Haul truck, and three roadies should suffice for the evening.”

Daltrey, speaking from his home in the English countryside, said he is unconcerned about COVID hurting the tour. “We’re just going with the flow of life.” And, you know, if you get it and die, you get it and die. ”

Mick Jagger was voted as the top rock band frontman by the rock veteran, who has collaborated with many of the world’s top bands, followed by Freddie Mercury and Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, and David Bowie.

While the band has no plans to stop touring, the time will come, Daltrey acknowledged.

“I’ve always said about this business. You don’t give it up, it gives you up. I will open my mouth and it won’t come out like it should. And I will go, that’s it, can’t do it anymore.”
