The Weeknd to Voice Two Characters in Upcoming Episode of ‘The Simpsons’

 

The Weeknd will appear in the upcoming episode of the animated comedy series The Simpsons! 

 

The Canadian singer will appear in the episode Bart The Cool Kid by voicing two characters, Orion Hughes and Darius Hughes. The upcoming episode The Simpsons: Bart The Cool Kid featuring The Weeknd is due to air on March 20 on FOX.

 

In this episode, Bart, who loves skateboarding, is in a relationship with a well-known child influencer in Springfield named Mike Wegman. Mike is also a successful entrepreneur who has his line of skatewear. The character of Mike Wegman is voiced by actor Michael Rapaport. In this episode, it is also told that Bart’s father, Homer Simpson, does not like Bart’s relationship with Mike Wegman. He then gathered the fellow dads in the town of Springfield to fight Wegman.

 

The Weeknd admitted that he was very proud to be joining the series The Simpsons. He wrote on his Twitter account, “Proud of this one” alongside a yellow heart emoji, on Sunday (March 6).

 

This is not the first time The Weeknd has appeared in an animated series. In 2020, he voiced the animation “Robot Chicken” as the character Madea and was involved in the cartoon series “American Dad”. The Weeknd also wrote the song “I’m a Virgin” for the episode “A Starboy Is Born” and was involved in writing the script with screenwriter Joel Hurwitz. Meanwhile, The Weeknd will also star in the HBO series “The Idol”. In the project, he was involved as an executive producer and scriptwriter.

 

This summer, The Weeknd will kick off the After Hours Til Dawn concert in North America with Doja Cat as a special guest. The After Hours Til Dawn concert is scheduled to start on July 8, 2022.
