After releasing the X70 series, Vivo is reportedly preparing the latest generation flagship smartphone, Vivo X80. The Vivo X70 was only released in October 2021, but leaked specifications and prices of the Vivo X80 are now starting to appear on the internet.
The latest leak from MySmartPrice on Chinese microblogging site Weibo says this phone will be supported by the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset. According to the site, Vivo X80 will come in three versions, including Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro, and Vivo X80 Pro Plus. All three will be equipped with different chipsets.
According to MySmartPrice’s leak, the Dimensity 8000 will be the Vivo X80 chipset. While the Vivo X80 Pro will use the Dimensity 9000 series chipset. For the Vivo X80 Pro Plus it will be supported by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
The Vivo X80 screen specifications
Regarding the appearance, the Vivo X80 will come with a 6.56-inch AMOLED screen that offers Full HD + resolution.
The screen is also said to support Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxid (LTPO) technology which allows the screen to change the refresh rate without additional components. Meanwhile, according to a leak from Gizbot, the Vivo X80 Pro and Vivo X80 Pro Plus may come with a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. Both will also be supported by LTPO 2.0 screen technology.
All three versions of the Vivo X80 will reportedly be equipped with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. In addition, Vivo is also said to be embedding UFS 3.1 storage technology. Regarding RAM support, the Vivo X80 may come with an LPDDR4X RAM chip, while the Pro model is supported by LPDDR5.
The Vivo X80 camera sector
In the camera sector, the Vivo X80 may come with three cameras, including a 50 MP ISOCELL GN5 resolution, a 13 MP camera and a 13 MP Sony IMX663 lens that offers 2x optical zoom.
Vivo X80 Pro will offer a 50 MP ISOCELL JN1 camera coupled with a 50 MP camera as well, as well as a 12 MP Sony IMX663 sensor with 2x optical zoom support. Meanwhile, the Pro Plus model reportedly has four cameras including a 50 MP camera, 48 MP (Sony IMX598) and a 50 MP JN1 sensor that supports 2x optical zoom and 50 MP that supports 5x optical zoom.
For the front camera, the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro will carry a resolution of 44 MP, while the Vivo X80 Pro Plus carries a 50 MP front camera. All three models will run on the Android 12 operating system, offering WiFi 6 network options as well as NFC support. It is not yet known how much battery capacity will complete the Vivo X80 series. However, leaks say the Vivo X80 will offer 55W fast charging support and 66W and 50W (wireless) for Pro models.
