The Vivo X70 Pro Camera Excels iPhone 13

Smartphone camera test site DxOMark has released a report on the test results of the Vivo X70 Pro camera. The Vivo X70 Pro itself is a top smartphone model in the Vivo X70 series that favors the camera segment.

On the back, there is a 50 MP main camera with an IMX766V sensor. Then there are three other cameras, namely a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, a 12 MP portrait camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8 MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.

DxOMark claims in the report that the score obtained by the Vivo X70 Pro can beat the benchmarks of the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini. This flagship phone scored a total of 131 points, a difference of more than one point from the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, both of which scored 130.

The score numbers of the X70 Pro are the same as the Oppo Find X3 Pro and Vivo X50 Pro Plus, which scored 131 in DxOMark. According to the site, the X70 Pro is the 12th best camera phone on the market today.

Overall score and Good image quality

The X70 Pro scored 139 for photo section, 77 for zoom, and 111 for video. By comparison, the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini have an overall score of 130. DxOMark believes that the camera on the Vivo X70 Pro offers advantages in terms of exposure, stability and vivid color selection and also said to be able to capture stationary subjects very well in low light conditions.

For an ultra-wide camera, DxOMark estimates that this phone can produce a fairly wide angle of view with fairly good image quality. The exposure provided by the camera on the Vivo X70 Pro sharpens more details. Allowing you to see in the brightest and darkest points of the camera frame. It also claims that the included two telephoto lenses can deliver fairly good image quality, especially at longer telephoto settings.

On the other hand, the image quality captured by the telephoto lens at closer distances is still considered inaccurate. DxOMark’s Camera testers have also repeatedly found that image resolution suddenly drops between multiple shots of the same subject.

The Vivo X70 Pro video quality

In addition to the photography performance, the video quality produced by the Vivo X70 Pro is quite good. DxOMark explains that this phone can produce well-exposed videos with clear colors and accurate white balance, especially when shooting in bright lighting conditions.

However, Vivo X70 Pro also comes with some disadvantages such as cutting out fine detail from the ultra-wide camera, some noise on subjects taken day and night and also losing details when taking pictures in low light conditions. It should be noted that in the tests, DxOMark captured and evaluated images up to 3000 times.

Meanwhile, to determine the score in the video category, DxOMark spent up to 2.5 hours recording video using default settings in controlled labs, as well as indoors and outdoors (indoor and outdoor). Note, this test was performed on the global version of Vivo X70 Pro released with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.
