This January started with the most anticipated horror movies.

In the early year, starting this week, several anticipated horror movies will hit theaters in January. Even though it is not Halloween, some of these horror movies choose to release in the first month of the year. This is the list of every anticipated horror movie coming in January.

Scream

25 years after the first movie in 1996, Scream become the first anticipated horror movie this month. Starring Nave Campbell as the original cast of the Scream franchise, the story is set 25 years after a serial murder in quiet town Woodsboro, California. A new serial killer with a Ghostface mask starts haunting a group of teenagers in the town. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, Scream will hit theaters on January 14th.

Fresh

In the second place of the most anticipated horror movie, there is Mimi Cave’s debut in directing Fresh. Due to limited information about the trailer, the story follows a dating woman who fights against her partner’s uncommon habits. The film stars Sebastian Stan, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jonica T. Gibbs, Charlotte Le Bon, Dayo Okeniyi, Andrea Bang, and Brett Dier. Fresh will be coming to theaters on January 20th.

Orphan: First Kill

The prequel of the 2009 film Orphan, Isabella Fuhrman will be back to the most anticipated horror movie coming at the end of January Orphan: First Kill. The story centers on Esther, a 33-year-old woman trapped posing a 9-year-old child due to pituitary disorder when she escape from the asylum. Later, she represents herself as a missing daughter of a wealthy family. This prequel will close January in theaters on January 28th.
