The Mona Lisa Has Been Caked.

Every year, thousands of tourists visit the famous Louvre Museum in Paris which is among the world’s most visited museums. Tourists mainly come here to see the famous Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa. However, once you have a glance at the Mona Lisa, you feel underwhelmed and wonder what’s the hype all about. But on Sunday (May 29), the Mona Lisa was worth seeing, as she looked a little different than usual.
A video of a climate change activist, dressed as an elderly woman, is making rounds on the internet as you can see him smearing cake on the painting,

This piece of art by the famous Leonardo da Vinci has been on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1797. As per reports, the man was wearing red lipstick, and a wig and attempted to break the bulletproof glass that protects the painting. He jumped out of a wheelchair and then smeared cake on the glass.
One of the Twitter users who was a witness to this incident tweeted, that the man “smeared cake on the glass and throw roses everywhere before being tackled by security.”

But what could be the reason for such a hideous act? In another clip, the activist explains his reasoning behind this act.
Speaking in French, the alleged attacker says: “Think of the planet, there are people who are destroying the planet, think about that. That’s why I did it.”

Due to the protective glass, the painting hasn’t suffered any damage as a result of the cake smearing.
