The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber’s Hit Single ‘Stay’ Tops The Billboard Hot 100

In its fourth week on the chart, Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” climbs to No. 1 from No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The duet marks The Kid LAROI’s first leader on the list and Bieber’s eighth. According to MRC data, in the week ending August 5, the catchy tune generated 31.9 million radio airplay audience impressions, 30.9 million U.S. streams, and sold 14,400 downloads, up from No. 4 in the previous frame.

The Kid LAROI was the first Australian male soloist to top the authoritative list since Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl” 40 years ago, bringing glory to his homeland.

 “This is not only a big moment for me but a really big moment for Australia. Growing up all I ever wanted to do was make it big in America and show everyone what we have to offer,”  the singer posted on Instagram.

 “l wanna take this moment to give a shout out to a couple of other upcoming Australian artists and put you all in tune — they’re next,” he continued.

 “Stay,” the 1,127th No. 1 in the Hot 100’s 63-year history, was released on July 9 by Raymond Braun/Columbia Records/Def Jam. 

 Streams, airplay, and sales: According to MRC Data, “Stay” had 31.9 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 16%) and 30.9 million U.S. streams (up 1%), and sold 14,400 downloads (up 70%) in the week of Aug. 5.

Other chart-topping songs this week include BTS’ “Butter,” Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits,” Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More,” Lil Nas X’s “Industry Baby,” Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” Olivia Rodrigo’s “deja vu,” and The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears.”
