Despite previous predictions that the series would continue beyond Season 10, AMC has announced that the show’s 11th season will be its final. However, fans will no longer have to wait longer for it to return.
The 24 episodes will be divided into 3 eight-episode sets. From August 22 through October 10, one episode will be released each week, completing the initial eight-episode batch. The show’s last episodes are anticipated to be released in 2022.
Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko, and Princess are still being kept as plot points for the characters we know, and this may become a pretty important plotline.
According to a Variety report, some huge actors have been added for the upcoming season. Michael James Shaw (Avengers: Infinity War) is expected to join the cast as Mercer, the Commonwealth military commander. Laila Robins (The Boys) will portray Governor Pamela Milton, Josh Hamilton (Dark Skies) will portray Lance Hornsby, and Margot Bingham (Saturday Church) will portray Stephanie.
For more than a decade, ‘The Walking Dead’ has managed to draw millions of viewers to watch a pretty small band of survivors in post-apocalyptic Atlanta, elsewhere fighting against zombie hordes. Now, moving into the last season, The series will be “bigger than ever” Angela Kang said.
Season 11 was supposed to premiere in 2020, however owing to an unprecedented surge of COVID-19 infections and deaths in the United States, production was suspended and the premiere was rescheduled.
