While fans are waiting for The Dragon Prince’s fourth season on Netflix, they can now play the new official tabletop game.
Developed by Brotherwise Games and Wonderstorm, the company behind The Dragon Prince, The Dragon Prince: Battlecharged has a mix of miniatures and cards for fast-paced gameplay. There are eight characters to pick from, each with their deck of action cards and multiple boards for players to fight against one another. Players can even make their teams or start a battle royale if they please. A winner has won when their opponents fall three times.
Though, this isn’t Wonderstorm’s first tabletop game. There were one named Tales of Xadia, also derived from The Dragon Prince. However, many fans found the game to be too complex instead of fun and inviting. This time around, Wondertstorm went with Brotherwise instead of Fandom Tabletop and focused on making the game more accessible.
Not only is it easy to pick up and enjoyable, but the gameplay has replayability to it. For example, the character Callum and Dark Callum could have been an easy skin for a card, but that’s not the direction they took. The two have their cards and strategies, and that goes for the entire game. There are several matchups and schemes to come up with for defeating enemies.
