Telecom Group “Indosat” Merge With Hutchison 3 Company

With the approval of Johny G. Plate, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) officially merged with PT Hutchison 3 Indonesia.

This merger is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Number 7 of 2022 concerning Approval for the Merger of Telecommunication Operations of PT Indosat Tbk and PT Hutchison 3 Indonesia.

The merger of the two communication companies is now named Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison with the ISAT code on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Responding to the merger of these two companies, Heru Sutadi, Executive Director of the ICT Institute commented that if the two large companies merged through the right and smooth process, the performance would be multiplied.

On the other hand, if the consolidation is carried out with inaccurate calculations, it will become a problem and a burden for the company in the future. At the beginning of the merger process, consolidation of the network, employees, users, marketing and sales as well as future business strategy became a top priority.

Sutadi also added that the most important thing is customer satisfaction and service improvement to be of higher quality.

Vikram Sinha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, said that after this merger customers will continue to receive outstanding services and offers without any interruptions.

As if keeping its promise, on its official website, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison announced that it is providing a 30-day free quota promo for 10 GB of TikTok access and free calls for up to 6,000 minutes (200 minutes/day) for Indosat and Tri subscribers.

This promo, which runs from January 4 to February 2, 2022, can be enjoyed by all customers, both prepaid and postpaid, both old and new.
