Tamagotchi is Back with a Sanrio Collaboration and it’s Adorable!

 

Going back to the late 1990s and early 2000s, Tamagotchi was one of the biggest toy crazes of all time developed by Bandai. These adorable digital pets with more than 40 unique characters relied on you to take care of them – and now they have a collaboration with Sanrio!

 

The Tamagotchi Smart Sanrio Characters Special Set introduces you to a world where the world of Sanrio and Tamagotchi collide, with a total of 10 cute characters that you can raise when you use the Sanrio Tamasma Card!

 

The price retails for ¥8,433, or if you already have a Tamagotchi Smart – you can purchase the Sanrio TamaSma card separately for ¥1,496.

 

If you didn’t know yet, the Tamagotchi Smart still includes the small egg-shaped handheld device except that it’s a wearable smartwatch so you can bring your Tamagotchi everywhere!

 

The Tamagotchi Sanrio Smart features a pink pastel color with Hello Kitty’s bow on it. You’ll also get a matching pink lanyard with all the cute Tamagotchi x Sanrio characters on it, along with Hello Kitty’s bow.

 

Of course, it comes with the Sanrio TamaSma Card, which allows you to download the Sanrio content into your Tamagotchi Smart. Essentially, it’s a memory card that you insert into the Tamagotchi Smart to download additional content (characters, food, games, accessories, cosmetics, and many more). Think of it like installing a DLC into your game!

 

If you’re curious about the actual content, the Tamagotchi characters that you can raise and evolve include original Tamagotchi characters as Sanrio characters, with their iconic designs. There are also Sanrio food items, such as My Melody ice cream, Pompompurin pudding, and a Hello Kitty burger!
