Starfield is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. Starfield will be released on November 11, 2022, and it’s going to be a PC and Xbox exclusive. Microsoft has accepted $7.5 billion to buy the parent company of Bethesda, ZeniMax Media. “Some announced and many unannounced”, including Starfield, “the highly anticipated, new space epic currently in development by Bethesda Game Studios”, said Phil Spencer as the head of Xbox. The company announced that they are still working on both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI. Hence, you’ll probably be hearing about the Starfield release date long before Bethesda announces The Elder Scrolls VI release date.
Starfield unveils the teaser at E3 2021 during a stream with both Microsoft and Bethesda. There is no footage of the game, but there are some clues about where this game will take place.
The developer has revealed a video detailing the Starfield faction and a universe called Settled Systems. The game is set 20 years after the reconciliation of the United Colonies and Freestar Collective factions after a bloody war between the colonies. Despite that, there is still a lot of excitement within the universe, pirates, brutal astronauts, and religious groups pose a threat.
You will play as a part of an organization called Constellations, and your mission is to investigate and uncover the secrets hidden in the deepest corners of the Settled Systems. To capture the setting, Bethesda gets her spacecraft design inspiration from Elon Musk’s SpaceX spacecraft.
The alien race also exists, but a more realistic approach to the game and how to interact with it haven’t been revealed. Plus, Todd Howard would like to point out that just because there is an infinite set of universes to explore in space, it doesn’t mean that Starfield will include all galaxies.
