A model and actress Jung Ho-yeon is reportedly gearing up to star in the new Apple TV series ‘Disclaimer’.
Jung Ho-yeon joins the ranks of other players who have previously been confirmed to star in the series directed by Alfonso Cuaron. Namely Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. ‘Disclaimer,’ as quoted in Variety on Thursday (March 17), is based on Renee Knight’s novel of the same name and it was published in 2015.
‘Disclaimer’ features Cate Blanchett as Catherine Ravenscroft, a successful and well-respected television documentary journalist in her field. Ravenscroft’s works are created to uncover the hidden transgressions of a long-respected institution. However, her life changes when she discovers she is the main character of a mystery novel written by a widower (played by Kline). Ravenscroft was shocked to discover that she was a key character in a story she wished had been buried long ago.
Ho-yeon will play Kim, an ambitious, hardworking, and passionate. Kim knew that working with Catherine Ravenscroft would be a breakthrough for her. Jung Ho-yeon made her acting debut last year in the series ‘Squid Game’, as Kang Sae-byeok. Her acting career immediately skyrocketed and was recognized globally, and in the 2022 SAG Awards, she won the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. Apart from Ho-yeon, Blanchett, and Kline, the upcoming series will also feature Sacha Baron Cohen and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
In ‘Disclaimer’ Alfonso Cuaron serves as writer, director, and executive producer along with Gabriela Rodriguez, David Levine, Dawn Olmstead, Steve Golin, and Cate Blanchett. Novelist Renee Knight also joins as executive co-producer. ‘Disclaimer’ is currently still in the pre-production stage. There is no certainty regarding the broadcast schedule, but the series will certainly be released on Apple TV+.
