Spy x Family Anime Finally Debuts First Episode!

The long wait is finally over! Spy x Family finally released the first episode of the anime on Saturday, 9 April.

 

The first episode of the anime is available to watch on official streaming platforms: Crunchyroll, iQiyi, Netflix, Bilibili, and YouTube Muse.

 

The Spy x Family anime is adapted from the manga by Tatsuya Endo, and the animation studios responsible for the anime adaptation include Wit Studio dan CloverWorks, who has worked on popular animes like Attack on Titan, Horimiya, and The Millionaire Detective Balance: UNLIMITED.

Spy x Family centers around a spy with the codename Agent Twilight with the mission to infiltrate a prestigious elite school. To execute the mission, he must create a “fake family” to infiltrate the school.

 

With that, Agent Twilight takes on a fake identity as a psychiatrist named Loid Forger, who adopts an orphan and agrees to be in a fake marriage with a woman who is a city hall employee.

Unknowingly to him, the orphan girl he adopted named Anya is a psychic while his “fake” wife, Yor, is an assassin. For a successful mission, the “fake family” must learn to become a real one to prevent the world’s endangerment.

 

The Spy x Family manga has been serialized in Shonen Jump+ since March 25, 2019, and published by Shueisha. Viz Media has also been publishing the English version of the manga on their website, digitally on September 22, 2019.

 

The manga has gained in popularity since 2019 and has earned the titles “No. 1 Popular Web Comic of 2019,”, the “No. 1 Popular Shonen Jump+ Work,” and a “Signature Work of Jump+” and has sold over 1,229,131 copies.
