Spending Time And Carrying Out Activities In Nature’s Lap Might Reduce Anxiety: Study

 

A new health study reveals that conducting and taking part in outdoor nature-based activities can enhance the mental health of adults, as well as those individuals who are suffering from pre-existing mental health issues. The conclusions and inferences of this study were housed in the journal ‘SSM- Population health’. The University of New York gave rise to and led this study, which directed towards the fact that nature-based activities ramp up mood, slash anxiety, and instill positive emotions among individuals.

 

The study also shed light on the time period of such activities. It stated that activities being in force from 20-90 minutes and being carried out for 8 to 12 weeks yield such positive results.

 

Mental health-enhancing activities most particularly included activities such as gardening and physical exercise. However, our study is aimed at highlighting the fact that carrying out activities in nature’s lap is linked to prodigious and noteworthy gains in mental health.”
