SEVENTEEN becomes the first K-POP artist for MTV Push. These past years, especially this year, Seventeen has been making history.
Adding to their milestones, on December 7, MTV announced their next Push artist which will become the first K-POP act to ever be featured. That act is Seventeen.
According to Bandwagon, as the next Push Artist, Seventeen will be releasing a month’s worth of personalized content and performances starting this upcoming December 10.
Reciting Forbes: “In the past, the MTV PUSH franchise has spotlighted the likes of Billie Eilish, The Kid Laroi, SZA, Lauv, Lizzo, Bazzi, Khalid, Olivia Rodrigo, H.E.R., Chloe x Halle and more. Earlier this year, the 2021 MTV VMAs included Push Performance of the Year in its show while the MTV Europe Music Award included Best Push Act, making Seventeen a potential contender for several of MTV’s flagship award shows.”
This will be a major deal to the Seventeen members and how they will go on as artists as Push Artists. Being the second biggest K-POP male group, Seventeen seems to keep striving and pushing forward to achieve more goals and this might just set it upright for them.
Seventeen has been killing it this year, with two mini-albums released and holding two online concerts. They have multiple appearances on U.S TV for the two albums which both sold 1 million copies each and did very well in the charts.
Forbes also said: “With their recent signing with U.S. label Geffen Records, alongside their established home in Pledis Entertainment under top Korean agency HYBE, Seventeen is seemingly gearing up to truly make 2022 their crossover year.”
Seventeen has recently won Daesangs and Bonsangs from year-end awards. Just in 2020, Seventeen was awarded the “Prime Minister’s Commendation” at the 2020 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards. They also won “Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award” at the 2021 Newsis Hallyu Expo Hallyu Culture Awards. This further proves their influence.
Stay tuned to the MTV Push campaign with Seventeen. It is set to go live Friday, December 10, starting at 10 A.M. ET on the MTV PUSH site and later at 4 P.M. on the MTV PUSH YouTube.
