Russia Prepping Pretext for Ukraine Invasion

The White House officials say that the U.S. intelligence has further identified Russian preparation to invade Ukraine. The officials also said Russia has already prepositioned some of the operatives in the region to carry out some “false-flag” operations.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki also said that a massive disinformation campaign is going on in social media. A Russian effort to portrait Ukraine as an aggressor in the region. This groundwork is to set up Ukraine as an aggressor and justify the imminent attack on the country.

The Russian operatives in the ground can carry out explosions, alleges Psaki. She also said there could be an attack on the Russian proxy forces in the region.

Who said what:

“We are concerned that the Russian government is preparing for an invasion in Ukraine that may result in widespread human rights violations and war crimes should diplomacy fail to meet their objectives,” Psaki said.

Some media reported that these inputs came from intercepted communications and observations of people’s movement in the region.

But Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said this information is “very credible.”

The Past:

The situation in this region is not at its best for some time now. There have been accusations from U.S. officials claiming Russia is planning to attack Ukraine.

Russia has already said that they cannot trust the U.S. anymore, so in future, the U.S. has to give written promises rather than oral ones.

The Ukraine issue, many observers suggest, is going to be one of the central tensions in Europe in 2022.
