RF online and real life in-game cryptocurrency usage
Rising Force Online game or often called RF Online is one of the most popular Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) genres, one of which is in Indonesia.
This game made by CCR was released in Indonesia around 2006 and became one of the iconic games of its time. But unfortunately, the server from RF Online had to close and the players could only play the game through a private server.
Reported from one of the Korean media, Inven, CCR as a developer will re-release RF Online globally. Not only that, the economic system used is crypto assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum according to the Battle Coin that will be owned by the players.
The global Integrated server will be named, ‘Battle Coin Server’, which is operated in collaboration with service companies from 34 global countries, and introduces a ‘seasonal race’ method, unlike any other server.
How players obtain a Bitcoin and Ethereum?
Later players will get various missions in the game which if completed will get prizes in the form of Bitcoin and Ethereum. In addition, they can also make transactions between players in the game.
“We are also planning a Lunar New Year event; that provides users with unprecedented benefits as we enter the new year. As we always have that in mind; we will continue to work hard so that you can enjoy the game more.” Said CCR Business Manager Lee Tae-hoon, as quoted by Inven.
This is not the first time that a company engaged in game development; has entered the world of cryptocurrency, blockchain or NFT.
Other gaming companies such as Ubisoft; Square Enix; Nexon; and Citadel Studios; as well as Fable series creator Peter Molyneux; and Twitch Co-Founder Justin Kan have also expressed faith in NFT. But won’t be diving into it just yet.
