Red Notice now has officially beat Bird Box as the most popular movie ever on Netflix. This Rawson Marshall Thurber film has become the first movie to have more than 300 million watch hours, beating the previous title holder Bird Box that still has 282 million watch hours.
This fact has been revealed by the streaming service itself, Netflix, that Red Notice is the most-streamed movie ever. They also gave the list of its most popular movies of the week, both original or acquired, as well as which countries Red Notice is the top streaming film in. The top ten streaming original films of all time are also mentioned, with Red Notice, Bird Box, Extraction, The Irishman, and The Kissing Booth 2 making up the top five.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, Red Notice has received poor reviews from critics, currently sitting at 35%. Red Notice became very popular because of the stars featuring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. The performance of Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds are especially similar to their previous characters, let’s say Deadpool and Wonder Woman. The film’s pace is quite fast and humor allows for easier enjoyment, the plot twist was predictable which is not a big issue for more casual viewers.
Red Notice follows FBI profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) on his way to catch the fugitive “The Bishop” (Gal Gadot) who tries to rob the egg of Cleopatra Eggs before it gets robbed by the great art-thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds). Seems Hartley successfully catches Booth with the second egg, he was accused as the thief after Interpol figures that the egg was fake. The journey of the agent and the art thief begins to find out the third egg and catch “The Bishop.”
