Recommended K-Dramas to Watch in January

The first month of the year, you know what means…new K-dramas to binge-watch! The k-dramas listed below are either ongoing or recently finished, you can’t get any fresher than that.

1. Our Beloved Summer

An ongoing coming-of-age comedy romance about ex-lovers who split up with the agreement never to see each other again. However, the documentary they recorded 10 years ago becomes famous, and they are forced to face the camera once again.

2. The Red Sleeve

Based on Kang Mi Kang’s novel series of the same name,  It depicts the story of Lee San, later King Jeongjo of Joseon (Lee Junho), and Seong Deok-Im, a royal maid (Lee Se Young). Lee San falls in love with Seong Deok-Im. After succeeding to the throne, King Jeongjo approaches her and offers her to be his concubine. Seong Deok-Im, who finds joy in her duties, declined the King’s offer since being a royal consort would rob her of her independence and may bring her suffering rather than contentment.

3. The Silent Sea

Set in dark forthcoming years in which earth faces water shortage and food scarcity as a result of drought. Han Yun-Jae (Gong Yoo) is a space agency captain. He is chosen to fly to the moon with a crew that includes astrobiologist, Song Ji-an (Bae Doo-Na). Their task is to recover an enigmatic sample from a deserted research facility.

4. Secret Royal Inspector

It tells the story of a young foodie whose dream is to run a dumpling restaurant who accidentally becomes a royal inspector and a divorced lady who strives to seek joy in life as they work together to investigate and reveal corrupt officials during the Joseon period.

5. Dali and The Cocky Prince

‘Dali and Cocky Prince’ portrays the blooming romance between Jin Moo-Hak (Kim Min Jae) and Kim Dal-Ri (Park Gyu Young) even with their total opposite characteristics, distinct upbringings, and academic history. Jin Moo-Hak comes from a humble background, but through hard effort and an aptitude for business, he became the owner of Dondon F&B, a worldwide chain restaurant.

Elsewhere, Dal-Ri is an adopted daughter to a wealthy family who’s capable of anything except household activities. The two met by mistake and were later known to be creditors and debtors to each other when Dal-Ri’s gallery is on the verge of bankruptcy.
