Want to upgrade your mask game? Look no further, as Razer just released their new Razer Zephyr masks.
This mask started out as a concept, revealed during CES 2021, known at the time as “Project Hazel”. Due to positive reception, the project was greenlit several months later, and rebranded to “Zephyr”.
At the Razer E3 2021 showcase, they gave us an update on the status of the mask. The general design of the Zephyr is similar to the Project Hazel concept, with some minor changes. Razer CEO, Min-Liang Tan stated that the mask adheres to three core values; safe, social, and sustainable.
Safe
The mask uses N95 grade filters with two-way protection, and is tested and certified for 99% BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency). This ensures that both inhaled and exhaled air are filtered, keeping you and the people around you safe. The mask also has two 2-speed intake fans, improving air circulation. You can toggle the fan speed between 2 modes (4200/6200 RPM) using a multifunctional button. The strap goes around your head, ensuring a tight seal over your mouth and keeping the mask snug on your face.

Social
The mask has a transparent design for the mouthpiece, allowing for people to see your expressions easily. The transparent mouthpiece also has a layer of anti-fog coating, which comes with the mask and can be reapplied as needed. There are also interior lights around the mouth area, to ensure your mouth stays well-lit in dark areas. Externally, there are lights around the filters too. All these lights are powered by Razer Chroma™ RGB, which means you can control the colors and effects straight from their app.

Sustainable
The masks are reusable, and you only need to change the filters every now and then. Min-Liang Tan states that the filters they use last 3x longer than single-use surgical masks. Their replaceable filters also use 80% less materials than regular single-use masks.
On October 22nd, Razer released a video, announcing that the Razer Zephyr is on sale exclusively at their site. However, they sold out immediately, so you might need to wait for the next batch of masks.
