Ray Liotta was an actor who was well known for countless roles. One of which was Joey Perrini in the soap opera.
Born on December 18, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, he was adopted by Alfred and Mary Liotta at a very early age. He was a very talented and enthusiastic athlete, playing in basketball and football when he was just in high school.
The New Jersey-born actor graduated from Union High School in 1973, where he was inducted into the high school’s Hall of Fame in 1993 – before going to the University of Miami to focus on developing his craft.
He then moved to California to try his luck to break his way into the Hollywood industry. However, the road wasn’t straightforward for poor old Liotta, as he found himself struggling to find any work and facing countless rejections.
And then, the breakthrough he so desperately needed came to him in 1985, when he was cast to play Melaine Griffith’s ex-con husband in the movie ‘Something wild.’ The role had won him critical and popular acclaim.
In his long career in the Hollywood industry, Liotta proved to be a versatile character actor who’s able to be dangerous and funny on the big screen.
We’re talking about movies like Cop Land, Hannibal, The Iceman, Date Night, and a whole lot more movies he had under his belt.
Words are now being spread on the internet that there are plans that the actor will be honored in his hometown of Union Township, according to Mayor Manuel Figueiredo.
On Tuesday, Figueiredo told TMZ that plans are being made to honor the late actor, who died on Thursday, 26, 2022, at the age of 67, in the Dominican Republic, where he was working on the film Dangerous Waters.
