Rapper Jessi Announces Temporary Hiatus

Rapper Jessi has announced a temporary hiatus from the entertainment industry.

Jessi, whose full name is Jessica Ho, is a Korean-American rap singer. She debuted in 2005 with the single Get Up. Four years after she debuted, Jessi had a five-year hiatus from 2009 to 2014.

Jessi was born in New York and raised in New Jersey, which made her Korean bad, even until now. However, it has become Jessi’s uniqueness.

Jessi became popular after participating in the first season of a rapper survival program called Unpretty Rapstar. Jessi has a rare personality among k-pop musicians. She is bold, blunt, and witty. Her bluntness made her not ashamed to mention that she had done some cosmetic surgeries.

On Thursday, December 16th, Jessi brought the hiatus news on the latest episode of her talk show, Showterview with Jessi. In that episode, Jessi, alongside announcer Cho Jungshik, presented the show’s one-and-a-half-year interim report.

Showterview with Jessi is a talk show hosted by Jessi since June 2020. In one and a half years, the show has 80 episodes with a total view of almost 200 million. Jessi had interviewed a broad range of people, mostly actors and idols, from both older and younger generations.

Besides the interim report, Jessi also announced that she would have a winter vacation. She explained that she hasn’t seen her family for three years, even before the pandemic. She will visit her parents in the United States to spend her winter vacation with.

Along with Jessi’s hiatus, her talk show will also have a short break for two weeks. Jessi expressed her intention to interview people with various occupations once the show comes in January 2022.
