The Business Times of Singapore has recently released a report from Reuters that the government of the People’s Republic of China or PRC will tackle national security, innovation in technology, monopolies, education, and foreign affairs with new laws, according to its document from late on Wednesday.
It has been using pro-data-security or anti-monopoly laws to crack down on tech giants in recent months and going after tutoring companies, as the Chinese communists tighten their grip on citizens.
The PRC sanctioned former secretary of commerce Wilbur Ross of the United States with a law on foreign sanctions and brought Hong Kong under its law on national security last year, defending its interests beyond the border on the mainland by legal means.
Chairman Xi Jinping of the PRC often tightens the grip of laws to deal with various issues there, a habit that will remain if he seeks a third term next year as expected.
The PRC-run Xinhua news agency published a blueprint for the PRC in five years to 2025 that says that its government must conform to the wishes of the Chinese communists.
The government said that it will also draft legislation on the digital economy, online finance, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, citing the need to improve its response to emergencies as the basis.
Chinese communists said that they would amend the laws on infectious disease, health on frontier, and quarantine to improve legislation on public health.
The PRC now seeks to return to normalcy after the outbreak of COVID-19 that began in Wuhan in late 2019.
They also planned to prevent and resolve social conflicts with stronger policies, encouraging officials to pre-empt them.
They said that they also consider improving legislation for areas including education, race, religion, and biosecurity.
They added that they will strictly enforce rules on food, medicine, natural resources, production of industrial safety, urban governance, and transport.
