Players in Black Ops Cold War are angry about the “misleading” Season 5 battle pass

Several Black Ops Cold War players have expressed dissatisfaction with the Season Five battle pass, which they feel is misleading and prevents gamers from obtaining the coveted Kyubi skin.

Season Five of Black Ops Cold War was released on August 13, delivering a slew of new features and tweaks to Treyarch’s 2020 title.

The new season included an extensive battle pass, which included skins, calling cards, insignia, and the new EM2 assault rifle and TEC 9 submachine pistol, as has become typical for Call of Duty games.

While the battle pass’s content has been favorably received, players have been frustrated by the Kyubi Kitsune Skin’s apparent false marketing.

The feline assassin appearance is fantastic, and it’s only available for a limited time in Black Ops Cold War.

However, some players have been frustrated after purchasing the battle pass only to discover that if they have previously purchased the seasonal pass, they would not be able to obtain the Kyubi skin.

The issues were brought to the attention of Redditor ‘Chillenge,’ who explained that players who desire the Kyubi skin should not buy the ordinary 1000 CoD Point battle pass. This does not grant access to the Kyubi skin, which is only available as part of a 2400 CoD Point package.

“Getting the 1000 CP regular Battle Pass does not unlock limited time Kyubi skin,” they warned. “If you want this skin, YOU NEED to get the 2400 Battle Pass bundle with Tier Skip in order to unlock this skin.”

Fans were outraged to learn that the only way to receive the Kyubi skin is to buy a package that costs more than twice as much as the normal battle pass, which includes 25 tier skips.

Some players slammed Activision’s move as “greedy” and “misleading,” while another blasted the fact that the Kyubi skin’s features were posted in the patch notes, a place where players might not think to seek for cosmetic information.

Others, on the other hand, backed Activision, arguing that a bonus skin should be available for a fee.

Regardless, many people were frustrated by the restricted options for obtaining the fantastic skin, as well as the lack of transparency surrounding it.
