If personal data is lost due to a defect in the hard drive or SSD, accidental deletion or the system being infected by malware, it is often difficult or even impossible to restore it. In order to prevent the loss of personal data, it is therefore important to ensure regular backups or synchronization. A large selection of synchronization and backup programs are available for this purpose.

With the freeware personal back-up a program for backing up personal data is available. Backups can be stored in any target directory, on a local hard drive or SSD, an external drive or on a network drive. Backups are either manual or automatic, based on a user-defined schedule. The program is operated via a control center in which the backups defined by the user are clearly displayed. All important actions can be started from here by pressing a button.

Personal Backup offers an assistant for creating new jobs, enables any number of individually configurable backup jobs, the backup of complete directory trees and a function for backing up selected individual files. A directory can be backed up with a click via the context menu of Windows Explorer and data can be backed up via an FTP connection, optionally via FTPS. Optionally, data can be encrypted using the AES method.
