Here are some viewpoints that make “Peaky Blinders” worth watching.

1. The Plot

‘Peaky Blinders’ is an original series from BBC that spans from 2013 – 2022. The story is set in 1900s Birmingham & follows the life of the Peaky Blinders crime gang in the direct aftermath of the First World War. The fictional gang is loosely based on a real urban youth gang of the same name who were active back then. We follow their interactions with politicians, businessmen, and criminals around them from the Irish Army, Communists, gangs, and others.

2. Charismatic Leader

Tommy Shelby, the leader of the Peaky Blinders & also the patriarch of the Shelby Family. With high responsibility, he must take care of his gang and his beloved ones. As an ex-war soldier that sees injustice around him, Thomas is determined to build a better life for his family, so that the outside power can’t touch them. We follow his ambition & determination as he must deal with difficult oppositions that await him in every corner.

3. Various Responsibilities

We follow the day to day story of the Peaky Blinders brotherhood. They are filled with different heads and personalities. John Shelby who is the third youngest in the brotherhood. Arthur Shelby, who is among the most senior. Polly Gray is the aunt and serves as the treasurer. They all have different purposes and we can see how they deal with things differently depending on their maturity and style.

4. The Friends and Foes

The story also goes to explore the people outside the Shelbys. We got to see plenty of fierce, terrifying allies & oppositions around Birmingham. Alfie Solomons as the leader of a Jewish gang in Camden Town, Luca Changretta, a New York mafioso with a vendetta against the Peaky Blinders. Aberama Gold, an ally of the Peaky Blinders and lover of Polly Gray. Each is interesting to see, backed with top acting too.

5. Full of Action

This series is fully packed with actions. There are many badass scenes, fight scenes, gunfire scenes, and other intense scenes. This is very common since it was the time where everything was solved by either negotiation or violence. Peaky Blinders is perfect for those who love fight scenes and gang wars. You will be fully entertained with its high paced actions from the very beginning until the end. Their British dialogue is classy too and definitely memorable.

6. 10/10 Cinematography

Cinematography is another thing that will always stand out about this show. The visual here is gorgeous. Prepare to see plenty of dramatic visuals that will take you to the beauty of the world during those times. Love the way the camera moves, the lighting, and the ambience in this show. If you have time you can check how they build the background CGI, as every building & architecture is added to further emphasize the beauty of this post-war era.

7. Fabulous Fashion

One thing that will always be memorable in this show is its fashion. From all the world’s timeline, my favorite era perhaps lies in the 1900s. The fashion during this era is at the peak of the world. It is the time where people wear suits and caps outside their home, backed with fine, stylish clothing. Most of their looks are catchy to see, and it applies not only for the Shelbys but for everyone in this show.
