Overwatch 2 recently released a sneak peek at the new playable hero – Sojourn. Blizzard posted Sojourn’s Origin Story on their official YouTube Channel PlayOverwatch on April 13, 2022.
Sojourn or Vivian Chase, is a railgun cyborg soldier that comes from the Special Canadian Forces unit that teamed up with the Overwatch team during the Omnic crisis.
The Omnic Crisis was a pivotal historical moment in the plot of Overwatch when Omnics (artificially intelligent robots) went into a rebellion against their human creators.
It was revealed that Sojourn previously worked closely with the former Overwatch Strike-Commander, Jake Morisson – more known as Soldier: 76.
In the current timeline, Sojourn no longer serves for Overwatch possibly after Overwatch’s disbandment, but is now in her own journey.
In-game, her abilities include cybernetic abilities that include a rapid-firing energy rifle, a railgun, and her ult ability that allows her to glow turquoise that has yet to be revealed.
Players can experience and enjoy the full extent of her abilities in the Overwatch 2 Beta that is still in production.
Overwatch 2 is expected to release around April 26, 2022 with new heroes like Sojourn, new modes, new maps, and new hero reworks.
Other than the change from 6v6 to 5v5, new map designs have been released:
New Queen Street in Toronto (Push game mode)
Colosseo in Rome (Push game mode)
Midtown in New York City (Hybird map)
Circuit Royal in Monte Carlo (Escort game mode)
Players can also experience major reworks from heroes like Bastion, Sombra, Orisa who are getting either visual or ability reworks – or both!
