Choi Woo Sik and Kim Da Mi will be reuniting in the romantic-comedy-drama titled Our Beloved Summer. Previously, they had competed in acting in the film The Witch.
Our Beloved Summer is also Woo Shik’s acting comeback on the small screen after 4 years of hiatus from starring in Korean dramas. Besides the two of them, there are also Kim Sung Cheol and Roh Jeong Eui who are cast in the drama.
The drama will be directed by It’s Okay To Not Be Okay producer Kim Yoon Jin and the script will be written by Lee Na Eun.
Our Beloved Summer is a romantic comedy webtoon adaptation that depicts the complicated feelings of a couple breaking up by saying, “That was a bad time with you, let’s never see each other again!” However, the documentary they shot 10 years ago in high school suddenly gains popularity and they are forced to be in front of the camera together once again.
In the drama, Choi Woo Shik plays Choi Woong, an illustrator who is used to hiding his personal life. He grew up in a decent family without any flaws, but he had no real dreams, and he was used to hiding himself. Kim Da Mi plays Gook Yeon Soo, a bright character who ranks first in her entire class and has a lot of drive for success.
Kim Ji Woong’s character will be played by Kim Sung Cheol. Kim Ji Woong is a PD (producing director) who re-shoots a documentary 10 years ago that went viral 10 years later. He’s been good friends with Choi Woong since elementary school so he knows him the most. He is actually a lonely character who sees the world through a camera.
The drama will contain 16 episodes and will premiere on SBS on November 6, 2021. You can also legally watch Our Beloved Summer on Netflix on the same date.
