‘One Piece Odyssey’ Game Announced for 2022

Exciting news for One Piece fans, One Piece Odyssey is an upcoming JRPG that will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam.

The game was announced on Monday (03/28) during the “ONE PIECE NEWS –NEWS COO ONLINE- live stream on the official One Piece YouTube channel, which lasted for one hour.

The upcoming game is developed by Bandai Namco and ILCA, Inc. and produced by Katsuaki Tsuzuki.

The music is composed and written by Motoi Sakuraba who has worked on games like Dark Souls and The Tales Series.

Like any other RPG game, players will be able to enjoy both One Piece and RPG elements like the main story, quests, and exploring dungeons.

The game will focus on a new story by Eiichiro Oda, which follows the Straw Hat Crew’s voyage on a mysterious island after getting ship-wrecked by a huge storm – leaving the Thousands Sunny broken.

Playable characters from the Straw Hats that were confirmed by Bandai Namco include Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, and Brook (unfortunately no Jinbei yet).

Eiichiro Oda has also designed new character and monster concepts exclusively for One Piece Odyssey, such as a character similar to Shandians during the Skypiea arc.

Animal creatures feature a mouse creature wearing a top hat, a penguin with a Mohawk, and a crocodile-dinosaur-dragon creature fusion.

Other One Piece news announced during the Livestream is the One Piece Card Game that will be released in July 2022 for Japan.

Illustration decks that are already released include designs for characters like Zoro, Sabo, and Law.
