On Wednesday, MTV announced that Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, and Lorde would be among the performers at the 2021 VMAs, which will air live from Brooklyn’s Barclay on Sept. 12
Camila Cabello and Machine Gun Kelly are also scheduled to perform as part of the initial lineup. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
MTV revealed some details about the exciting performances. With Lil Nas returns following his debut performance of “Panini” in 2019. Rodrigo makes her VMAs debut by performing her number one smash hit single “Good 4 U,” which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. Both received a total of five VMA nominations.
On the other hand, Lorde will bring a world premiere performance from her upcoming album Solar Power. Meanwhile, Cabello will perform a live version of her recent single “Don’t Go Yet” ahead of her third studio album, Familia. And MGK will perform “Papercuts,” his new single from his upcoming album Born With Horns, live for the first time.
Fans can vote for their favorite nominees at vma.mtv.com until Friday, September 3. They have 14 gender-neutral categories to choose from, such as Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Video of the Year. The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live on CTV on September 12 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Executives in charge of production are Alicia Portugal and Jackie Barba. Wendy Plaut is the executive in charge of celebrity talent. and Lisa Lauricella is a music talent executive.
