‘Nevertheless’ star Kim Min-gwi, to be edited on drama series following cheating controversy

Due to recent controversies regarding the cheating allegations thrown at Kim Min-gwi, as well as his alleged violation of self-quarantine guidelines, JTBC said on July 27th that it has decided to cut out most scenes of the South Korean actor from the drama series “Nevertheless.”

Along with the cheating scandal involving actor Kim Min-gwi, JTBC issued a statement on July 28 about his role as Nam Gyu-hyun on “Nevertheless”. Kim Min-role Gwi will be reduced starting with episode 8 and his scenes will be cut as much as possible, according to them.

“Starting from episode 8 that airs on August 7, Kim Min-gwi’s parts will be reduced. We will edit his scenes as much as possible.” Representative of JBTC drama series, quoted. Six of the show’s episodes have already aired, with the seventh set to premiere on Saturday (July 31).

Kim Min-gwi, an actor of Nevertheless, was found to have cheated on his ex-girlfriend when they were dating in 2021. A netizen identified as “A,” who was allegedly Kim Min-ex-girlfriend, gwi’s submitted a message about Kim Min-gwi to an online community site on July 24, 2021.

Kim Min Gwi’s agency, Big Picture Entertainment, said shortly after that he had directly confessed what he had done. “He admits to his wrongdoings, and sincerely apologizes to the many people who have been hurt by his immature judgments and behaviors.”

“Regarding the claim that Kim Min Gwi broke the COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, that is not true. He was notified to stay in self-quarantine on May 22nd, and while in self-quarantine, he felt abnormal symptoms and underwent a COVID-19 test. After he tested positive, he focused on getting treatment. He is now fully recovered.” They continued.

Kim Min Gwi denied the accusation about the self-quarantine violation but he acknowledged most of the allegations and already apologized to his ex-girlfriend in a handwritten apology posted on his personal Instagram account, “Recognized my wrongdoings.” Kim wrote. 

Kim Min-gwi is a relatively new actor who first appeared in 2021 on L.U.C.A: The Beginning. His performance on ‘Nevertheless’ was well-received, so it’s a sad to see him become embroiled in a scandal.
