The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) recently introduced Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel in the first trailer for Ms. Marvel.
Ms. Marvel is a new, original series from Marvel Studios that features Kamala Khan, a young Pakistani-Canadian, Muslim woman, growing up in Jersey City. Kamala is a Super Hero fan with an enlarged imagination, especially when it comes to Captain Marvel. She is an enthusiastic gamer and voracious fan-fiction author. Kamala, on the other hand, feels invisible both at home and at school—that is, until she gains superpowers like the heroes she has always admired.
Kamala Khan’s character first appeared in Captain Marvel #14 which was released in July 2013. She later appeared as Ms. Marvel in the All-New Marvel Comics NOW! Point One #1 was released in January 2014. Iman Vellani plays Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel). Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha were also included as the casts.
Ms. Marvel is directed by several directors, including Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Saving Face), Meera Menon (For All Mankind), Adil El Arbi, and Billal Falah (Bad Boys for Live).
Marvel initially announced Ms. Marvel will premiere at the end of 2021. However, that has changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has also changed the schedule of many other films and series. Ms. Marvel was then shifted to mid-2022, bringing it closer to The Marvels, the sequel to Captain Marvel.
Ms. Marvel will be released on Disney+ on June 8 with six episodes.
