Movies Recommendations: Here are Some Inspiring Movies About Fathers

A father figure is definitely an important role model for every family. A father is a son’s first hero and his daughter’s first love. The role of the father in the family cannot be replaced by other people, even by the mother considering the immense responsibility that is carried out by a father as the head of the family.

The following are a few recommendations for films about fathers:

1. Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is one of the many 3D Disney Pixar animated films released in 2003. This film shows the adventures of Marlin looking for his son, Nemo. Marlin is a clownfish who is very protective of his young child because his son has a deformed fin. Nemo’s fin is deformed because while still an egg, a terrible incident occurred, which lead to the killing of Marlin’s wife and the other eggs. Only one egg survived, albeit slightly damaged. From the egg, Nemo, who had one smaller fin than the other, was born. Nemo is then separated from Marlin when he tries to swim into the open sea to touch the ship.

This film will show the adventures of Merlin, a father who is looking for his son by crossing the ocean. We will see how much love a father has for his child.

2. Miracle in Cell No.7

Miracle in Cell No. 7 is a 2013 South Korean film starring Ryu Seung-ryong, Kal So-won, and Park Shin-Hye. The 127-minute film tells the story of Lee Yong Goo, who has mental retardation. He was imprisoned for being accused of murdering a little girl. Lee Yong Goo has a daughter named Yesung. The story begins when the little Yesung asks to buy a Sailor Moon bag. Unfortunately, there was only one bag and that bag was already in the hands of another buyer, namely the daughter of a police commissioner. The father asked the girl to sell his bag to Yesung. However, the girl did not want to give it. After that, the girl went to Lee Yong Goo to tell him that another shop also selling the same bag. Yong Goo followed the girl. However, trying to follow, the girl fell on the road and died. From here, Yong Goo was caught in a severe case with accusations of sexual violence, kidnapping, and murder.
This film will show us how a father’s sacrifice, even though he has mental retardation, still has the instinct to love and protect his daughter.

3. Cargo

Cargo is set in a post-apocalyptic film with the theme of a zombie outbreak. The movie tells the story of a man named Andy Rose, who survives a zombie outbreak. Andy’s wife turns into a zombie and bites Andy shortly after. Andy only has 48 hours before he finally turns into a zombie, and before that happens, he must find a guardian for his daughter to save her. He then continues his journey until he meets Thoomi, an aboriginal girl who lost her father to a zombie infection. Andy feels Thoomi is the only person he can count on to take Rosie to another aboriginal family. Thoomie is willing to take Rosie to his family, but they must avoid Vic’s chase. In addition, they must also be able to catch up with time before Andy turns into a zombie.
Cargo is unlike other zombie films because Cargo offers a post-apocalyptic story with a different point of view. We will see how much Andy loves his son. We will be shown the effort of a father to save his daughter from zombies.
