Moriarty The Patriot OVA Is Coming To Muse Asia

Heads up, fans of Moriarty The Patriot, Muse Asia has announced on Friday that the two-episode original animation video (OVA) project will be coming to their platform! The company will announce the distribution details at a later date.

The Blu-ray Disc and DVD was originally shipped on April 27 and features two exclusive mini character illustration sheets and an eight-page booklet in a sleeve case illustrated by character designer Tooru Ookubo.

The first episode of the OVA, titled “Yuri no Tsuioku” (Recollection of Lily) will be an anime-original episode following the story of a popular aristocratic painter Baron George Cubid (voiced by Kenji Hamada) whose masterpiece is defaced in Bath, England. The second episode will be an adaptation of the manga chapter “Moriarty-ke no Kyūjitsu” (Moriarty Family Holiday). The episode will center around a tea party thrown by the Moriarty family as part of a mission.

The first half of the  original anime was released on October 2020, with its second half being released in April 2021. The series concluded in July 2021 with a total of 24 episodes. Muse Asia had streamed the series as it aired in Japan.

Ryōsuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi’s Moriarty the Patriot (Yūkoku no Moriarty) manga is a subversive retelling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary series Sherlock Holmes. The series adopts the point of view of Moriarty (voiced by Souma Saito), the iconic antagonist and rival to the famous Sherlock Holmes (voiced by Makoto Furukawa). Now known as William James Moriarty, he embarks on a mission to bring justice to the evils imposed by the strict class system in 19^th century England.
