Tomorrow X Together, shortened as TXT, is a South Korean’s boy group under BIGHIT MUSIC. Tomorrow X Together (read: tomorrow by together) debuted on March 4th, 2019, with debut single CROWN.
Who is TXT?
The group has five members: Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai. The members don’t have any fixed position except for the leader, which is Soobin.
In TXT’s early years, they are known to be BTS’ younger brother group. However, as the year passed, TXT now is known as a group with long song titles. For example, the title track from TXT’s third EP in English is Blue Hour, but in Korean, the title’s literal translation is “You and I Found in the Sky at 5:53″.
TXT attended the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards last December 11th. Not only performed, but TXT also took home an award for Worldwide Fans’ Choice TOP 10. However, fans noticed something unusual happened to TXT at 2021 MAMA.
MOA, TXT’s fandom, claimed that MAMA or Mnet mistreated TXT on the award show.
First, Mnet didn’t put Yeonjun’s face on the thumbnail image of the opening stage performance video. Mnet then added Yeonjun after MOA’s protest.
Second, the TXT’s performance had a dance break in the middle, but there was a technical issue that made the dance break’s song delayed. Not long after TXT finished performing, BIGHIT MUSIC immediately released the dance practice video of the performance on the TXT YouTube channel.
Third, when they accepted the Worldwide Fans’ Choice TOP 10 award, Mnet cut off their acceptance speech, although Soobin hadn’t finished talking. Some fan videos showed Soobin, despite the mic cut off, concluding the rest of his speech before going down.
Some fans thought the mistreatment was due to BTS’ inability to attend the show. A similar case had happened in 2019 when BTS didn’t come to MBC Music Festival since they had an overseas schedule. After that, artists under HYBE Labels are no longer invited or promoted on MBC.
