Minecraft is Back with the Wild Update: Scarier Things!

It’s time to re-explore Minecraft with the Wild Update (Java Edition 1.19 and Bedrock Edition 1.19.0). With the official launch of the 1.19 Wild Update, there are a lot of new things to discover and try out for the first time – from new biomes, and mobs, to resources.

Prior to the 1.19 Wild Update, Minecraft released the 1.18 Caves & Cliffs Part 2 update where most of the features in the 1.19 Wild Update were supposed to be released but got delayed. The 1.19 Wild Update introduces “scary” elements into the game – bringing a different dynamic for a new gameplay experience.

Here are the new features of the Wild Update!

BIOMES

  • Deep Dark Biome

If you think mining deep into the caves or venturing out into the Nether is already scary – the Deep Dark biome is not for the faint-hearted. Inside this other-worldly biome deep underground, your vision will be limited by the Darkness effect.

Delve into the unknown to explore Ancient Cities, find Sculk Blocks, Sculk Veins, Sculk Shirekers, and more… and maybe even encounter The Warden.

  • Mangrove Swamp Biome

The luscious green Mangrove Swamp biome is home to new mobs like Frogs and new resources including Mangrove Trees, Mangrove Leaves, Mangrove Logs, Mangrove Planks, Propagule, Logs, Roots, and more!

MOBS

  • Allay

The winner of the fan votes, Allay is a friendly and helpful mob that flies and searches for dropped items that you give to them.

  • The Warden

The long-awaited super hostile and super scary mob is here. The Warden only spawns in the Deep Dark biome or is summoned by Sculk Shriekers. If you decide to confront this terrifying creature, make sure to remember that it relies on hearing and smell to locate you.

  • Frogs

Introducing a new mob into the game, you can find frogs of different colors in the new Mangrove biome or you can grow them from tadpoles.

RESOURCE BLOCKS & ITEMS

  •  Mud

Found in the Mangrove Swamp, you can use mud to craft Packed Mud that’s used to craft Mud Bricks.

  • Boat with Chest

Finally, you can store your items in your boat, without having to cram food and resources into your limited inventory all the time while you traverse the ocean.

  • Froglight

Another decorative item, these decorative Froglights will give you light around your house or any of your surroundings.
