A new animated series coming from Marvel called Hit-Monkey. The first three episodes will be released on Hulu on November 17th with future episodes to come.
Created by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the series is based upon the Marvel comic book series of the same name.
The actors and actress
In the show, actor Fred Tatasciore plays a Japanese snow monkey named Hit-Monkey. He is mentored by the ghost of an American assassin while he simultaneously also damages the crime underworld of Tokyo.
Co-stars in the series are some notable actors including Jason Sudeikis who stars as Bryce, the mentor of Hit-Monkey. The person who ends up dying and coming back to Hit-Monkey as a ghost to continue aiding him. George Takei is also a part of the series, playing Shinji Yokohama, a kind but overwhelmed politician, and his ambitious niece. Akiko is played by Olivia Munn. Alongside these characters are the cop and partner duo of Haruka, (played by Ally Maki), and Ito, (played by Nobi Nakanishi), who fight against Tokyo’s injustices.
Creators Will Speck and Josh Gordon have been working together mostly in the comedy genre since their time together at New York University. Previous collaborations have included their directorial debut, Blades of Glory, followed by The Switch and Office Christmas Party. The original Hit-Monkey comic book series was written by writer Daniel Way and illustrated by artist Dalibor Talajić with the first issue released in April 2010 on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, an online service distributing comics for view. It was released in print the following week.
