Mark Lee To Release First Solo Single For SM STATION’s New Project ‘NCT LAB’

 

SM Entertainment announced the 2022 project “NCT LAB” as part of SM STATION, the agency’s digital music brand on January 28.

This new project will be an archive of NCT’s various music activities and will continue to showcase NCT’s colorful music, including solo tracks, unit songs, self-composed songs, and more. All of the future releases will be outside of the group’s fixed albums.

 

To kick-off “NCT LAB”, NCT’s Mark Lee will release his first solo song ‘Child’, which is scheduled to be released in February 2022. NCT’s Mark took part in writing the lyrics and composing the song. The song ‘Child’ was described by SM Entertainment as an emotional hip-hop song with “unique bass synth and electric guitar riffs that create a seductive sensibility”, with “candid lyrics to evoke sympathy”, per a press statement.

This isn’t the first time Mark has worked on a song. Since his debut as a member of NCT 127 in 2016, he has participated in various NCT songs (both Korean and Japanese) including ‘Sticker’, ‘Universe (Let’s Play Ball)’, ‘We Go Up’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Come back ‘, ‘Boss’, and more. As a member of NCT, Mark has garnered global popularity with his impeccable rapping skills, charming vocals, and powerful performances in every comeback. NCT’s ‘Child’ Mark will be released as the first part of SM STATION’s “NCT LAB” at 6 PM (KST) on February 4, 2022, on various music platforms in South Korea and internationally.

 

On Wednesday, February 2, SMTOWN released a teaser of the official music video and have reached 495K views on YouTube.
