The following is a recap of the countries that ensured qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after passing the qualifying round. Among them were the Netherlands who followed Germany and England after beating Norway with a score of 2-0.
As of Wednesday (11/17/21), there were 12 who got a ticket for the 2022 World Cup. The country that first participated in the prestigious four-year event was the host Qatar.
From the European zone, one team meeting has now managed to qualify immediately after finishing as the group leader. France and England finally joined Germany, Denmark and Belgium who had previously also stepped into Qatar.
The road traversed by England, France, Denmark, Germany and Belgium is fairly smooth. Since in the qualifying round, they appear from the beginning to the end of the round.
Even England closed the group qualifying match with a landslide victory 10-0 over San Marino.
However, there were also European teams who broke into a cold sweat in the final round. Like Serbia, who made sure to qualify after scoring a goal in the minute of injury time while sending Ronaldo cs to join the play-offs.
Same money with Serbia, Spain and Croatia also experienced the same thing. Both have to wait until the crucial minutes to beat their challengers namely Sweden and Russia.
A similar situation was also experienced by Switzerland, who qualified dramatically after overthrowing Bulgaria with a 4-0 scoreline, while in the other match Italy was only able to play a goalless draw against Northern Ireland.
These results brought Switzerland to finish as the leader of the standings and forced Gli Azzurri to carry out a life-and-death match or play-off before appearing in next year’s World Cup.
Then, the Netherlands became a European team that overtook its competitors to qualify directly. Certainty was obtained after Team Oranje won convincingly over Norway. Two Dutch goals were scored in the 84th minute and in injury time.
