LG to Release Gaming Laptop UltraGear 17G90Q

South Korean electronics company, LG has finally announced the presence of its first thin gaming laptop, which carries the name UltraGear 17G90Q.

In terms of design, the UltraGear 17G90Q body is wrapped in an aluminum casing that has a thickness of 21.4 mm and a weight of around 2.64 kg.

This laptop has a 17.3-inch (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) IPS LCD display panel that supports a refresh rate of up to 300 Hz with a claimed response time of 1 ms, along with 99 percent sRGB coverage.

In the hardware aspect, the UltraGear 17G90Q is powered by an 11th generation Intel Tiger Lake H CPU accompanied by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics processor.

The processor is also combined with two DDR4 RAM memory options consisting of 16 GB and 32 GB, as well as M.2 SSD storage with a capacity of 1 TB.

To support gaming needs, this laptop is equipped with a cooling system that utilizes vapor chamber technology. There is also UltraGear Studio software to control system performance, fan speed, and the lighting of the RGB lighting on the keyboard.

On the connectivity side, the UltraGear 17G90Q is equipped with one USB 4 Gen 3×2 Type-C port that supports Thunderbolt 4, one USB-C 3.2 2×1 port. And two USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 ports.

Then there is an HDMI and Ethernet port, a microSD slot, and a 3.55 mm and RJ45 jack port. UltraGear 17G90Q is supported by a battery with a capacity of 93 watt-hours (Whr).

Other features of this laptop include an integrated fingerprint scanner with power button, FHD webcam, dual microphones, IR camera integrated with Windows Hello, Wi-Fi 6, and DTS X Ultra stereo speakers.

For availability, the UltraGear 17G90Q comes in one color variant, namely Purple Grays. This gaming laptop is planned to be launched in the US and South Korea in early 2022.

However, until now LG has not revealed the price of the UltraGear 17G90Q. This information seems to have just been published at the annual Customers Electronics Show (CES 2022) which will be held on January 4-5, 2022 in Las Vegas, United States.
