From Aug. 6 to 20, Metro Manila will be under a tougher enhanced community quarantine, according to Malacañang, who has given some guidelines for transportation for affected regions.
As per the resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and Department of Transportation (DOTr), the DOTr proposal to maintain the current supply and 50% capacity in public utility vehicles (PUV) was approved.
Only authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) would be permitted to board PUVs, according to Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade.
“Passengers will be subject to restrictions. As mandated by the IATF, tougher enforcement will be implemented to guarantee that only APORs are permitted to use public transportation,” Tugade said.
“APORs are urged to be prepared to submit to transport marshals IATF identity cards or other documents or IDs as confirmation that they are allowed to travel,” Tugade added.

Passengers for public utility vehicles (PUVs) like buses and jeepneys can function at 50 percent capacity on a “one-seat-apart” setup, similar to what has been permitted under the general community quarantine (GCQ).
The DOTr stated that all Philippine National Railways, LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 trains will be operating.
Furthermore, the passenger load on tricycles must not exceed one person in the side vehicle.
